🇬🇧 Mount Corvo and Wolf Visitor Center

Among the naturalistic beauties of Popoli is the ‘Monte Corvo’ pilot company, on the western edge of the Morrone mountain range, between 500 and 900 metres above sea level. The company is located on a plateau called Impianezza on the slopes of Mount Morrone, at the foot of Mount Corvo from which it takes its name, and is an integral part of the state-owned complex of the same name, which became part of the State Agency for State-owned Forests in the mid-1960s. The company was established with the intention of conserving and improving the existing forests, extending forest cultivation and developing a livestock enterprise that could set an example for local breeders. In order to diversify and expand the activities carried out on the firm, an equestrian centre was also set up to enable representation and institutional service on horseback in the area.

Wolf Visitor Centre

A Wolf Visitor Centre was opened in the summer of 2003, whose primary goal is to be a reference point for public education on the ecology of the species. In the educational circuit organised as a pathway leading from prey to predators of excellence (the wolves), there are enclosures housing deer, roe deer, fallow deer, mouflon and wild boar, as well as a number of aviaries with specimens of diurnal and nocturnal birds of prey representative of the native avifauna.
